Merry Christmas Mom and Dad 12/24/09
by Debrieanna
It's Christmas Eve and I'm thinking 'bout all of the holidays past
And how in my younger years,I hoped every moment would last.
I think about my Barbie's and all the toys that were under the tree
And every Christmas morning I'd look awed and then giggle with glee.
Mom and Dad would make Christmas special and we'd have a really fun time,
Even when there was trouble and sorrow and they didn't have a dime.
There'd be singing and dancing and drinking with gusto and holiday cheer,
Cooking, great smells from the kitchen with Mom right through the Eve of New Year.
Dad would kibitz and be telling jokes 'round the table with everyone there:
Those were the times I remember best as a kid who hadn't a care.
And now Mom and Dad are not with us and I miss them so very much;
T'was Daddy's contagious laughter and Mommy's creative touch.
I still know that they're with us in Spirit, looking down from a heaven above
And I'm wishing them both what they gave to us,
A wonderful Christmas with love
Merry Christmas Mom and Dad, I love you very much,
