Age 55 left his loving families’ side to go home and be with the Lord on August 19, 2006. He passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital after a courageous battle with Diabetes for over forty years and blindness for thirty years. Bob was born in London, Kentucky on September 10, 1950 to Leonard “Dutch” and Mae (Johnson) Allen. He owned and operated two Mr. Softee ice cream trucks and worked for Wright Burnett Brush Company, where he retired in 1975. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and especially loved being with his grandchildren. As a hobby he repaired and sold bicycles until he was unable to due to his health. The children in the neighborhood would always come to him to fix their bikes or pump up a flat. He was always willing to help others and was loved by and looked up to by all for his uplifting personality. Bob leaves his wife of thirty six years, Sheila. As well as his children; Bobby (Amy) Allen and Rhonda (Michael) Bryan, his grandchildren; Jacob & Libby Allen and Madison & Morgan Bryan and His mother; Mae Allen of Fairfield Township. He also leaves two brothers; James “Don” Allen and Leonard “Tom” (Charlotte) Allen both of Fairfield, and four sisters; Marlene Allen-Stewart of Raleigh, NC, Darlene Allen-Collins of Fairfield, Tammy (Wayne) Scott of Fairfield Township and Alesa (Bill) Thompson of Hamilton. He also leaves his brothers and sisters in law; Charles & Brenda Jordan, Sue Wheeler, Tammy Bolin, Felix & Lisa Jordan, Scott Jordan and James Murphy. Bob also left many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins that he cherished dearly. Along with them he leaves two special families that he loved as they were his own children and grandchildren; The Coy’s: Tina, Randy, Lance and Dustin and The Bolins: Tammy, Tiffany, David & Hannah, Jessica, Mike & Logan. He also leaves his church family, the members of Timberhill Baptist Church. Including his pastor, who he loved dearly, Rev. Scott Miller and two of his close friends Charlie Schweizer and Ernie Warren. He was preceded in death by his father, Dutch Allen and infant sister, Mattie Allen. His family would like to extend thanks to Dr. Timothy Brown, Dr. Mahida and Dr. Manavalan, The Dialysis Center of Fairfield and the staff at Forth Hamilton Hospital for their prayers and care for Bob.
